I have noticed that my ride is stiffer afteradjusting torsion bars for 1" lift along with new shocks. I had the GM dealer do the torsion lift and alignment. $50 for alignment and about $35 for shop labor. I don't have a garage, and HOA rules won't let me do it in the parking lot.

So would u advise somebody to upgrade shocks instead of buying the Torsion key?

Awesome. I have actually been fighting with this guy who does a lot of work on cars who keeps telling me, "NO NO NO do NOT crank the torsion bars. Your ride will be crappier." I even explained to him that I would buy new shocks along with that but he still insists that I don't level out my ride like that. He does work for me so it sucks to be in disagreement like that but the way I see it, the H3 wouldn't have "crankable" torsion bars if they weren't meant to be cranked. that's just my logic.

as long as you don't go much over the 23.5 mark, the ride will stay pretty much the same.
I recommend Bilstein shocks personally.

This demonstrates your "guy who does a lot of work on cars" doesn't know chit.

The lift is created by changing the position of the T Bars, the T Bars have a fixed spring rate, doesn't matter what position, the rate is identical at all times. There is no "crank", just an adjustment that GM engineered into the 3 on purpose. You do not need new shocks to adjust the stock torsion bars to lift the front. I been driving with my bars set at slightly below the maximum 23.5 for years with the OEM Adventure series shock and a BA Winch bumper. The geometrical change caused by lifting the front is the same regardless of stock of re-indexed aftermarket T Bar Key, so as has been said here 264,212 times, DO NOT buy a "leveling kit" set of keys. Useless waste of $$.

Do your adjustment, get an alignment, drive it and then... if you want, add new shocks and/or extended bump stops. Have don't know chit drive it before and after as well so he can eat crow.

I have my front end set at 23.25", run 35" tires and have the BA winch bumper on my 08 Alpha with the stock shocks. I have had no issues and have been running the truck in the configuration for over 50,000 miles. The truck rides great, handles the same as before and looks better.

T-bars adjusted to 23.25" and stock shocks also. I did do the HUNNER 1/2 nut trick but that was for a little more droop when wheeling.
