Default H3 07 automatic 85000mi

07 H3 automatic 85000 miles. Major mother guilt. Bought son a used H3 4 months ago and he has only been able to drive it 3 weeks. It has been towed to 3 different repair shops the rest of the time. Aamco, GM dealership, and last Hummer Dealership. RPM rev super high but acts like it is in neutral. Thank God he gets it off the road. But it will not go into gear or reverse. Then it dies and will not restart. All three shops say they have put in new transmission, transfer case, and drive shaft but problem persists. Please Help I'm a teacher and this is eating my pitiful savings. Should I just eat the loss and see what I can get as a trade in. He loves this Hummer. But I understand the low miles now...if you can't drive it!

Sounds like some bad luck or some shops jumping the gun... On repairs.

Do some research or have your kid do his do diligence for owning a vehicle....

did they show you any of the parts they removed? a failed torque converter can cause it to act like its in neutral but if they really replaced the transmission they probably should have replaced the torque converter at that time. the not restarting issue seems to be a separate issue that would have to be diagnose further. are the issues your experiencing happen before or after the 3 shops checked it?

Thank you, I really did spend quite a bit of time researching how Hummer 3 holds up and there many still on the road in my area. 3 just on my block. My son only drives in town.

It was the Hummer Dealership. And still one of the largest vehicle dealerships in McAllen Texas.

Everything happened before the shop repairs. I'll have to ask about the torque converter. Thank you.

Thank you, I will. He only drives it in town but was planning to take it to college about 5 hours on interstate.
