Default Gap between Leaf Spring Shackle?

So I just bought a 2" extended leaf spring shackles. I'm currently in the middle of the install and I noticed with the new extended shackles that they are a little bit wider than the stock ones.

My question is..., Is it okay just to put some type of spacers in there to make it tight? Or would that cause other issues?

-Thanks

1. Why are you installing extended shackles? Dilapidated old leaf springs sagging? Want to increase the stink bug look? etc?
2. NO, it is not OK to just put spacers in. The leaf springs and their mounts give lateral support to the entire differential.

Don't treat the H3 like an erector set, something going to give away, oh snap.
