Front park lamps, tail lights and license plate lamp all not working!
2006 Hummer H3 luxury PKG.
Both front park lamps, both rear tail lights (running lights) and license plate bulb all not working. I have read so much in this subject, or portions of, that my head is spinning.
First I had no lights whatsoever in the rear, except only the passenger brake light did work. Replaced all the bulbs in tail light area (2 each side) and now my brake lights and rear turn signals work. Yeah! But. My tail lights are still not working. Fuses are all good. Then I realized I have no front parking lights and no rear license plate light. And still no tail lights. Can someone please tell me what to do? All fuses and bulbs are good. One more thing, RiGHT before this happened, my husband removed & installed alternator and skid plates at least 3 times. I'm wondering what could have gotten knocked loose? We did check grounds (at least the ones in the engine compartment). Thank you. I'm getting tired of driving with two red flashlights taped to rear pretending to be tail lights.
here is a PDF of all electrical and there ground locations. http://schwarttzy.com/wp-content/upl...ing-2006-1.pdf
i would check the body grounds you can do a search within the PDF for some of your problem lights and see if they share any common grounding points.

Check the trailer wire harness between the rear bumper and the frame.
The wires sometimes get frayed and intermittently ground.
There is a great photo on HF somewhere of the exact position. FOUND ONE!
underneath behind the bumper, no need to remove the bumper. Photo is for wire harness location only.

Thanks for that. I tried earlier to download that but on my phone it wouldn't let me. On laptop now, so.. thank you.
WOW that's a lot of information! But I started looking at the diagrams, gonna take me a while but I'll let you know how we did. Thanks so much to everyone for taking the time to respond.
they do sometimes look good but when you unscrew them and look it might tell a different story. sometimes they will rust at the crimp and all that's holding on is the wire insulator not the wire. if you tug and any of the wires comes out then it was bad.
I would start with checking the parking lamp relay 89. It is controlled by the body control module which controls the ground. Check page 38 of the pdf. Is there power at the parking lamp fuses when the light switch is on would be an easy thing to check.
One of the earlier things I did was to check that relay 89.....and I don't have one. Is that possible that it was never there? I can't imagine what could have happened to it if it WAS originally there. Is there any way for the parking/tail lights to work without relay 89? ……..thank u. (and yes, I am still working on getting all these lights to work).
