RE: FIRST SNOW (VA)
We had about 4" here in Vienna, VA (west of DC).Many cars (and even a few rear pickup trucks) were fishtailing trying to go up some of the hills we have on the secondary, 2-lane roads that twist and turn with rolling hills. (wish I had my camera with me)
This morning, I was on a section of road (Lawyers Road, if anyone is local) and I was in a valley between two hills. Traffic was stopped in both directions as many of the vehicles were trying to get up the hills. There was lots of spinning tires and the snow had turned into a glaze of ice. There as a Mustang that had fishtailed off the side and wasstuck in the ditch. I did not even have to put my H3 into 4H. The normal 60/40 with stabilitrack worked beautifully. I even stopped in the middle of the hill and had no problem starting to move again.
I felt bad for the other folks and even stopped to offer help, but most of the folks did not want a push, for fear of messing up their back bumpers on their mustangs and BMW/Mercedes. I do not have a tow strap, so the first thing I will do today after work is to go and pick one upso that I can pull these folks out next time.

RE: FIRST SNOW (VA)
Think about your liability and safety exposure before you start towing/helpingpeople out. Tear up their car, cause somebody else to get in an accident, or block traffic, and you suddenly become the "bad guy" even though you were trying to help.
You wanna help, call a tow truck, they have insurance and the required emergency lighting.
