Default Engine Toast

Hey

After 396000 km on her my 07 H3 decided she was done. I’m just trying to get some thoughts together to see what engine I should put in her or sell her..... I have some people telling me to put a Cummings in then I have others tell me to convert to diesel...then some people offering me 500.00. I would like to hear from others that have a hummer as to what you would do or have done.

Welcome to HF. I MOVED your thread as the New Member Section is NOT for Tech questions.

Easy answer: Replace the original 3.7L with another 3.7L either remanufactured or used.

Converting to a Diesel sounds all great, but your budget would be HUGE and whoever does the work had better know what the conversion entails or you will never be driving it daily again. It's a pipe dream, easy for "others" to say when they are not pealing out the cabbage. There have been like 5 H3 diesel conversions that I know of, most did not go so well.

Good luck.

Cummins diesel or natural gas or convert to diesel?
You don't have a clue, therefore I recommend you sell as is, and let the buyer restore. According to kbb with the mileage, in running condition, value at $3,287, yet not running="she" only has value for the quality OE parts available, on "her".
I need another beer!

I prefer cream cheese on my engine toast instead of peanut butter.
