I’ve got a 2009 H3 that I absolutely love. The only issue I have is the car feels like it’s lacking the power it should have. What engine can I throw in there? Base model only pushes around 240hp lmaooo.

the fastest engine swap is an H3 alpha. it fits in the exact same spot as the H3 base.

Many install the Toyota 3UZ-FE engine. From Lexus engine with automatic transmission.
The most common SWAP engine in the world. There are many instructions for installing it.

 

Mod what you have and learn how it works. You have a capable off road platform designed for LOW END Torque, not an open highway star.

My 07 with an Intake, Cat Back exhaust, PCM Tune, Efan Conversion, PP Throttle Body, aluminum radiator, in all its off road goodies could keep up with most FS V8s, and make some look silly.

You want a V8, sell yours, buy an Alpha. A swap is going to cost a fortune and will not be a turn key reliable ride that can be serviced by anybody.

 

Have you seen any of the posted swaps to the V8? Lotsa parts to swap, and it's expensive.


If it fit "in the exact same spot", you wouldn't need to change the differential and axle housings.

As Doc Olds posted, just "buy an Alpha", and get on with your life.

 

no i was suggesting the entire vehicle not components. H3 alpha fits in the same parking spot as the H3 base.

Yep, my H3 is slow, putzy but it has great low end torque for towing. It's gutless lol.
But I'm not messn with it.
