Default electrical gremlins

After 13 years my Base H3 has developed a annoying glitch. A month after having my 4th battery installed my radio, warning chimes and bluetooth have started working intermittantly. I'm old and somewhat infirmed but can manage a few repairs yet if anyone here can point me in the right direction. If I drive it anywhere first thing in the day I have none of the things I mentioned, but after a couple of start and stop cycles everything works. Old geezer thanks any and all for help. mik

First question asked will be if you are using the OEM battery terminals. They are well known to fail.

The correct terminology is..... Crappy Azzed OEM Battery Terminals. If you are still trying to use the OEM junk, consider it your likely problem, they all fail by simply a couple disconnects/re-connects because they SUCK! They may look like they are connected properly, but those connections must be solid and 100% consistent 100% of the time. Even minor fluctuations in continuity will cause Gremlins.

Hack them off and replace with a quality aftermarket set like Stingers or your favorite brand. #1 FIRST Mod to do to every H3/H3T. If that is not your problem, then you will have to look at the wiring harness adapter to the aftermarket radio.

IDK, They look brand new. Had a friend take it for a new battery as I was in the hospital and she was using the H3 when it failed.

Do yourself a favor and SEARCH this topic. Here is a link Search Battery Terminal Connectors. You asked to be pointed in the right direction, we did that. Follow along or feel free to wander aimlessly, up to you.

In closing, as I said, your OEM Terminals may "look" good, but they are absolute chit!

Good luck.

I will pick up a set next time out. It stands to reason they could be toast after 3 battery replacements. I was suspecting the radio or it's connection. I like my H3 because of it's relative simplicity......no touch screen and just a few gauges and *****, but I guess it still has underlying sensitive electronics.

I have the stock radio with single cd player and it has worked well up til now. I have only had to replace the driver door speaker.

Replaced terminals......something has possessed my H3 and is PO'ed......at first the HVAC controls went nuts, and now the dome lights will not turn off. I called the Chevy garage and they really didn't want to mess with it. They suggested the Cadillac dealer as they were the last purveyors of the brand before they went under, they did ask me if I wanted to sell it though. I need to get this solved, it's maddening

Start by pressing the dome light override button:

Are the dome lights off?

Ya, I pressed the button plenty, disconnected the battery cables and tried to reboot everything, didn't make the lights go off so it's garaged with a cable off.
