Default Changing the rear wiper blade

I did a search but could not find any threads. My husband has had a hard time changing my rear wiper blade. It seems the only way is to remove the spare tire. Anyone else have this problem? Or are we missing the easy way out?

I loosened the nuts holding the spare so it would lean away from the window. I still had to use a 10mm wrench and pulled of the whole arm to install the Anco replacement I purchased.

i dont have any problems replacing the rear blade with the wheel on,just pull the arm up a little bit and it snaps out. another way is turn the rear wiper blade on and wait till it starts to go then cut power so the blade stays up and then switch out.hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip, lucky. How often do you replace the rear blade, I haven't had to change mine in over a year.

Sure, use logic!

The Anco holder would not go back on without being able to pull the arm out further, so I still had to go this route.

I am still trying to locate a place that sells the 12" Michelin Radius blades. I have them on the front and just love them.

The only place I've ever found a rear blade in the store was Pep Boys. I believe I bought the 14" blade. I just changed it a couple of weeks ago and barely got it on without loosening the rear tire. It was a pain but it worked. The rear wiper doesn't need to be replaced nearly as much as the front since it's not exposed to the elements like the fronts.

You can clean the blade with some rubbing alcohol and a paper towel or micro-fiber cloth. That usually does the trick unless the rubber was ripped or torn like mine was.

Tried turning it on and stopping the blade up. Still couldn't manage to get it off. I guess we'll just take off the spare. The blade is falling apart and really needs to be replaced. Thanks!

Default ReAR WIPER ON H3X

Same here. Do I need to take the spare tire cover off on the H3X?
