C0710 Post Steering Rack and Shaft Install, Replaced SWPS error not gone
So I replaced the steering rack which is when this error first appeared. I originally thought that is what was causing all of my steering play but was wrong and it turned out it was the steering shafts so I replaced upper and lower steering shafts. Steering play is fixed but still had this error to contend with. I read that I needed to replace the steering wheel position sensor to reset for this error. Ordered new sensor and installed, error is still there. I'm not sure what to do now. I've looked at the live steering degee data with my foxwell reader for analog and digital and initially they were showing as not matching. Last I looked they seemed like they were matching up but error still there. Tried to clear codes but didn't go away. I read that it should go away after driving for a little bit and I took it for a drive but no luck. How long of a drive? Should I put the pin back in the steering sensor and try reinstalling again? The wheel wasn't turned when I worked on the Hummer, I know that much. Any help is much appreciated, I've read everything I can find on this and other forums and I can only think I'm overlooking something or I got a bum steering sensor.
