Brake pedal creaks when pressed. Has anyone experienced this?
At about 105k miles on my 2006 H3. The pads, rotors and calipers are all in good shape. Lately whenever I press the brake pedal it creaks. The actually pedal. I got up under there and sprayed it with some white lithium grease which did decrease the noise but it’s still there.
Im just not sure which part it is causing it? With the car off I can get under the steering wheel and press the pedal with my hand and hear the creak clearly but it sounds like the entire pedal.
Ick to the lithium grease... Gawd that stuff is the pits. I just used some to night and I remembered what a freaking mess it makes. Long story short use tri-flow.
Lithium Grease has a place, but not when it can collect dust and crud. Over spray (eh hum..) creates a frickin mess. Even the "penetrating" versions do not penetrate much.
To your question... neither of my H3s had any pedal squeaks. Had an old Saturn that had squeaks but it was not the pedal pivot, rather the rubber boot through the fire wall that caused those.
