Just moved to Florida , 4 days in the satellite my thermostat goes, 400$ and 2 weeks later the blower stops working for my A/C. Now reading the threads and receiving a recall letter from GM (ALERTING ME OF A POSSIBLE FIRE TO THE SAID HARNESS, BUT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE ) I was driving to the gas station my blower crops out, I left the station and noticed the temp gauge rising, do these two things have anything to do with one another?
I will be attempting to fix the harness (if I can find the parts) is it OK to drive ? Minus the sweating I'll be doing w/out a/c. And of the temp gauge climbs is it related?
Help !

 

I don't think one has to do with the other; they are two completely unrelated systems.

 

Unrelated. Your Temp Gauge monitors coolant temp upon exit from the motor, the HVAC blower blows air through the heat exchange box of your climate control system.... when it works.

 

Of course, you can sometimes lower engine temps slightly by turning on your heater, since that effectively adds the heater core as a sort of auxiliary radiator. But in essence; no, they are unrelated.
