Default Blinker problem

Does anyone know if the blinker relay on a 09 H3 controls all four bulbs independently from each other not by the side? I replaced the rear drivers side that was not working and it still doesn’t work with a new bulb.

I think the blinkers are controlled by the BCM. Does the running light work? Start tracing the wires.

There is no blinker relay for the turn signals - its all controlled by the body control module.

If the RR parking light works its likely the output from the BCM or a broken wire. Inspect the wires to the bulb connector carefully to see if its been damaged. To confirm no power, you can probe the blue wire at the connector with a test light and see if there is power there when the blinker is turned on. That will help isolate it to the connector or to the wiring.

If the RR parking light also doesn't work then its likely the ground wire from the bulb socket to the nearby grounding point behind the RR quarter panel trim. Check for continuity to ground from the black wire on the bulb connector.

In the wiring diagram snippet below the brown wire is for the running light, the DK GRN/DK BLU is for the blinker. Dk Grn goes to the BCM and the factory trailer hitch wiring (which is there even if you don't have the factory towing package). The BRN/WHT wire goes to the parking lamp relay which provides power to all the running lights.

Easy stuff first. How old is your 2009? When vehicles get to that age they require attention, apply some using a can of CRC Electronics Cleaner to the Bulb socket in question. Test it before you put it back together.
