Anyone in the Detroit area want to go take a look and report back here? @TAINTER @Broken Halo
It does not look too bad to me. Could be a great part out at the current price IF the frame is bad.
No, I will not go look at it. If a friend or acquaintance asked I would. Sorry, I don't know you personally and I have a lot going on right now.

No worries - I didn't intend for my post to come across as a request for someone to go look at it for me, but rather it was intended to be more of a "letting local folks know" type of thing, in case anyone was interested in checking it out. Sorry if it didn't come across that way.

Default Thank you all

Thank you all who responded. To be more specific, im looking to drive the truck about 10-12k a year. No off roading , highway and local.

In this case the alpha is not 100% necessity.

From what I gather I should be looking for 3.7’s 2007 and up, is that accurate?

If anyone has one for sale in good shape I’ll be happy to take a look.

I want to purchase one 1st or 2nd week of January.

thanks in advance for any help and commentary.

You have the idea. 07s use a different PCM and it controls the Auto Trans.

08+ have a separate Transmission Control Module.

They made more 07s and 08s than the rest. I would not hesitate to buy a clean well cared for lower miles 07, I had an Adventure for 12 years, great truck. As between the 07-10 3.7L it would be based upon condition and miles for the deciding factors.

Nothing wrong with an 06 in great condition either if priced right.

Good luck.

I've had 2 '09's - one a base 3.7 with the 5 speed manual transmission, and the other a V8 Championship edition (Alpha/Offroad). The 3.7 was underwhelming. I added an airdoc intake and got the ECU "tuned" by PCM of NC, and it was still underwhelming. Personally, after having the V8 I would never go back to a 3.7 - the difference in performance is significant, and the difference in fuel economy isn't really that much.

Sold for $14,800. Still a good deal *if* the frame isn't rotted.

Could have frame damage or other issues with the seller losing $3k+ in 7months since purchase?
I paid cash near the same amount for my '07 3 back in early 2012 now @ 94.010 miles:will never sell
