Hummer H3 For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.

Anyone using the GStyle H3 Winch Mount Bracket?

Thumbs up

Thanks for the pics. Love the way it looks! I have decided to go with a VR8000# Warn winch. I will be talking to the person selling them tomorrow.

Like the others have said a 6K winch is to small for the H3. The 8K is marginal but you can get away with it if you pick up a ****** block.

I truly appreciate everyone's opinion. And I really like the honesty of being told that I'd look like a poser with a 6000# winch. That's EXACTLY the kind of feedback I was hoping to get now, before I made a purchase I'd regret afterward.

I showed my wife a photo of an H3 with the winch hidden behind the bumper and only the fairlead with the hook exposed. I also showed her a photo of the front mounted winch with the G-Style bracket. We both may be crazy, but we both like the looks of the front-mounted winch better.

Looks like the Warn VR8000 with the bracket mentioned above is our final decision. I will also buy a soft cover (13916) for the winch. As far as the ****** block and Brodie's back plates, we're basically doing this for appearance. It will be mounted and functional, but realistically never put to use offroading.

Thanks again to all of you.

Merry Christmas!

Ummm DUH! That's why I said 'for me'. I don't need a hinge point or radiator blockage. Even with brodies mounts I would not be doing any hard pulls with the HIGHMOUNT. I would rather have an internal mount but then I wouldn't have that hey fellow posers look at me thing going on. Oh Darn.

UofM fan, you already stated you will not be taking your H3 OffRoad in other posts. So, What's with the winch and mount? If you do ever need to use it a 6K winch won't do anything with your 5.5K rig!

Anyone who knows their stuff will point and laugh at a 6K winch on the front of an H3 and call you a poser. Sorry, but I know I would.

Cool

Decisions made:

Ordered the VR8000 winch and the G-Style bracket yesterday. Also ordered a Warn cover, billet aluminum hood grille with handles and Warrior 1-1/4" rear shackles. Gonna get it pinstriped with a little lettering, tint the front door windows and have "Blown H3" stitched above the Alpha logo on the head rests. Also going to do blue lighting in the engine compartment, interior and undercarriage along with new battery cables and maybe the 2 Optima battery setup. Hope to have it all done by spring so we'll be ready for car shows.
