Default Another electrical gremlin

Hi all,
Every day I start up the H3, back out, put 'er in drive, get up to speed and engage the cruise control (I live in a town with 25mph limits and don't want to get carried away)...until about a week ago.
I go through the above and no cruise control...That's odd...about 30 seconds later I hear the doors lock (something that used to happen immediately upon selecting drive) then the cruise will work.
Then when I park, the doors used to unlock automatically, but no, now I have to manually unlock to get out. I have also had the security warning light come on a few times.
Where do I start to look for this one? Am I going to have to start shopping for a new computer module?
Any help is appreciated!

Check battery resting voltage and running voltage.

OK, found it in the owner's manual, changed modes to #2 then back to #1 still the same...BUT I did notice while I was messing with it another symptom that is probably the culprit. The LED lights that indicate the gear your in aren't all working. I have P, 3, and 2. No lights under N, R, or D...if I shift from park to 3, works great, locks immediately, shift back to P and unlocks immediately. Why are these lights not working and why does it affect the locks. I don't think I'm going to find that in the owner's manual.
