After-Market Radio install

After-Market Radio install
I want to change the factory 6 CD radio that is in my 2007 Hummer with an after-market one. My question is, do I need to worry about any lock codes or anything of that sort when installing the after-market radio? Or will it just take? Thanks in advance!

Hey BamaH3;
Thanks for the response... Can you be so kind as to let me know which radio harness you purchased? I see so many of them and wasn't sure which one to use... and wasn't sure if my factory 6 CD changer unit has an amp or not. Thanks in adavance.

Mine has the Monsoon system so I used this:https://www.crutchfield.com/p_249GM1...Interface.html
along wit this: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040G...a-Adapter.html
But you can go their site and put in the year and what system you have and it will list all the options and everything you need.

Sorry for being off topic. Maybe you or somebody else can help me. I'm searching for a new stereo. I've been reading reviews about Pioneer decks but they are useless hype. All the positives are covered and they rarely mention the drawbacks. The DMH-1500NEX head unit landed on my short list. From all the blogs that I've read one stood out. The blogger was hyper critical about all brands and put me on the fence. Well this DMH-1500NEX stereo review was OK until I've reached the shortcomings section. Does it really take 30s to load? How hard is to install these units anyways?
Any tips?
