Question 315/75 R16, Any problem on Stock H3

H3 are new to me, so I need some help.

Is there any problem installing on a stock 06 H3 a set of 315/75 R16 (34.6") This is a daily driver for my wife, loaded with kids all day so its always packed with 7 PPl, (we have extrea seats installed) Also I might tow one of my jeeps to the trial with it.

So is there any rubbing, diff problem, Tranny problems with this size before I buy.

Im asuming that I will lose about 5-8% on speedometer, and about 12% power.

Thank You
Jacob Jackson

I have several friends running them w/o problem. You should do a T Bar Adjustment to raise the front a bit closer to level with the rear (it does not have to be 100% level), get an allinement check, and be aware you may get some slight rubbing on the stabilaizer bar when turning at full lock.

I run 305/75R 16s MTZs, ain't figured out how to make them rub yet, but I am working on it every chance I get.

There are like a zillion threads asking this question here as well, do a search and see what you think.

Keep us posted on the results. I'm also thinking about going to 315's. My only concern is loss of power.

Well, my GF drove in to shop today wile I was at work, I ask her how it rides and she said "Rough & Meaty ride" what ever that means LOL. She did say she notice a lack of acceleration compair to where it was with 31" Tires, and it took more gas to get over the humps in drive way.

never new I had a big hump ledge in drive way till got the hummer, the jeeps dont even notice they are there, the hummer has to rev up motor to go over then and a bit bouncy.

When I drive it tonight Ill let you know how it feels to me.

okay can I fit Hankook MTs 295 75 16 with NO leveling? https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/s...hlight=hankook In the link is someone here running 285 75 16s and it looks stock height. I'm asking cuz I need new tires for my Ford and I can switch the Goodyears onto my Ford and get new Hankooks for the H3, but I can't afford to raise the front just yet.

I am running 315-75-16 on factory rims since this 2006 was new and now have 9000 miles on it. Those are mostly all off road miles but driven gently. I do not jump it or want to walk back from a remote area in 105 temperature because I abused it. I did not have to adjust anything and it is level because of all the emergency supplies and water I carry.
It looks really nice when you fill out those large wheel wells. It really changes the whole appearance of the H3 with 35's. It is well worth the 2 mpg less to gain the extra 1 to 2" extra ground clearance. I am using the BFG MT's and they are great running and looking tires. It came with the 33"s and I would never go back to them. Hummer cheaped out not using 35"s in the first place.

Hummer didnt cheap out by not putting 35's on an H3. They were looking out for your well being as well as your wallet! A stock H3, non Alpha 5 Cyl. with no mods. and 35's is Absolutely Gutless! Looks great, more clearance and no power. As is with 33's Hi-way acceleration is SO-So.
