Default 2006 Hummer H3 radio turns on outta nowhere!

Hello everyone first post here.

I recently replaced the radio and harness in my 2006 Hummer H3 and also installed a new ignition switch due to this issue.
However, I am still experiencing an issue where the radio turns on occasionally when the car is off. I have ruled out issues with the radio and harness, so I am wondering if there could be an underlying electrical issue or if the new ignition switch may be faulty. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue or have any suggestions on what else I can check to diagnose and fix this problem? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

There are a lot of guys on this H3 forum that are experts with these issues. I would suspect that the ignition switch (ACC contact) may be involved. But, like I said, there are very good people on this forum that can probably assist you best! Happy Trails!

Remove relay #88. Post the results.

2007 H3: Interesting about the radio comment. The little round black silicone plug that surrounded the drivers side key hole rotted away allowing water to get into my door after a heavy rain. That’s when I noticed a static sound coming out of my radio. On and off it would come on. Pulled the weather strip around the bottom edge of the drivers door and made sure all the water was drained. Inserted a black o-ring into the key hole and secured with some black gasket sealant to stop any leaks. Per HummerZ recommendation, I pulled the #88 relay and disconnected the negative battery terminal to reset the computer. Cleaned the relay connection, reinserted the relay and no more radio issues. However, my rear view mirror is now dark and no longer shows the outside temp reading. Maybe an issue of water in my door. Sorry for the long winded comment, but wanted to include in case anyone else had the issue with the leak around the keyhole. Happy Mothers Day😀
