Found some coolant dripping on the engine passengers side while re-installing lower engine protector/deflector? I was preparing for some off-road driving and wanted all bottom protection installed. I am guessing their is a engine block drain plug in this area. Has anyone had to replace the plug due to coolant loss from this area? Is there is an engine block coolant plug in this area? I have replaced the radiator, radiator cap, engine water plump, thermostat but these is still some coolant loss.

After replacing the parts listed above, I was still losing some coolant and have to add some coolant to the reservoir. The Temperature indicator runs a little above the half way mark on the Temperature gauge (I/P display). The engine has never over-heated, yet..

Need to know the location of the engine block coolant plug, if one exists on the V8 5.3L engine for my 08' H3. Planning alot more off-road use in isolated locations eventually MOAB, Utah.

Picture or a better description of the location of the actual leak?
Not a guess.

 

Clean the motor and underside at a spray wash. Drive it and follow the leak residue.
