First post on here because I'm very confused. It's my fiances hummer but I usually fix it unless it's something difficult. I do have mechanical experience before that's brought up. Her oil pressure sensor was going bad and she drove around with it bad for about 2 weeks. Just yesterday her driveshaft or something in that area was making a rattling noise. I believe it was the driveshaft because I got under there and it rattled a little bit. Drove it after I installed the new sensor for a mile or so and it was still making the rattling noise. Parked it, turned it off, waited 5 minutes and then drove it out of town and it slowly stopped and is no longer making the noise after 15 miles. Just need helping maybe diagnosing or figuring out what happened

How many miles? Was the front drive shaft CV joint (the end at the Transfer Case) ever rebuilt or was the shaft itself ever replaced?

When the front drive shaft CV joint goes, it starts making noise, vibrates, clunks, the boot may rip and grease flies out etc... Grab ahold of it and see if it is loose. There are vids online how to replace that end.

I second this advice ^^^! Only thing I would add is that I needed to put the transfer case in neutral to release any torque on the front drive shaft before I could move it around with my hand to verify my CV joint was bad.
