Default Front airbag impact sensors

Does anyone know if I can use a earlier model GM airbag sensor on my 2005 hummer H2 SUT the part number for the 2005 model is 10370148. Is there any other compatible sensor on the market?

What's the issue with your sensor?

The airbag sensor has gone bad setting off a code showing service airbag. There are no available sensors to be found for that year at any auto parts store. Have you heard of anyone using an early model airbag sensor thats still being manufactured like for an escalade or something similar with a 6.0 liter 364 cu in

I have a 2006 with the exact same need. I can’t find a sensor anywhere and I’ve been stalking the GM as well as the Dorman variant with no luck. It seems there has got to be a version of these sensors that should work but I can’t find anyone that knows.

if you have a pick n pull near you that might be the simplest way to find out. get a variety of them and start testing. closest might be GMT-800 family or 900 family depending. but not necesserilly.

I have a couple salvage yards around me here but unfortunately none have an 06 on hand.

You sure brother? Since starting this search, I’ve had several people tell me the 03-04 are one part number, the 06-07 are a different part number and the 08-09 are yet another and none of the three can be swapped for the other. None of those people seemed REALLY sure of their statements (even the dealership parts guy) though so I still don’t know.

the part number got superseded by newer part numbers as the years progressed.
