Default Wipers running on highest setting by themselves

2004 H2 with 146k miles. My wipers today started going off by themselves on full blast and would not turn off no matter what I set them to. When this happened in my H3 it ended up being the BCM. Has anyone seen this before? I tried searching the forum and couldn't find it. Is it possibly related to it being really sluggish starting up? Is it the infamous issue with the wiper module underneath the cowl? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

After more research, I think I do need to replace the pulse module for the wiper motor under the cowl. I'll go ahead and order that and replace it. And gonna get my battery tested this weekend. If anyone has any other advice let me know

Why not just clean/dry and use a sealer on the module cover?

Update:
I replaced the wiper pulse board under the cowl and the issue has not returned so far. The old one I removed had white crust on the board like it was corroded from moisture. I kept it as a backup for now. Removing the cowl was way easier than I thought. It is just screws, bolts, and pressure pins.

Just to clarify to help others: your initial post stated it was the bcm that was replaced on the H3?
Now on your H2 you fixed by replacing the control board.
However, if you would have cleaned the board, on either, you would still have the same end result!

I'm probably the unlucky one, in my case there was no visible signs of corrosion to the pulse-board. So I de-soldered the PCB from the platic housing, removed a relay and found the tracks had been eaten away underneath. After reparing the tracking, replacing a resistor, re-fitting the relay, re-fitting the PCB it all worked fine for about 18 months. Eventually the motor seized as the previous damp had corroded the bearings ( which by the way are replaceable too)

After doing all this work I just wish I'd bought a complete new motor in the 1st place.

So my point is YES the Pulse Module can be cleaned, repaired or replaced but whilst you're there check the bearings and grease and re-lubricate. Better still, avoid a "dog's breakfast" and just buy a new wiper motor unless you really are broke.
