55 psi sounds really high on the tire pressure, sure thats not heling

I run about 34-36lbs in my tires on the H2, My old Cooper STT E-rated 35s were rated at 78psi Max, I kept them at about 34-36psi. My 37 BFGs KO2s D-rated are rated for 54psi Max iirc, and I keep those around 36psi. New Bilstein offroad shocks on mine as well. I think it rides great on the 37s until I get to bad irregularities like deep potholes or uneven train tracks and then the entire interior sounds like its falling apart.

I chalk that up largely to the 3/4 ton front end, they just aren't forgiving. Large tires with lots of sidewall make all the small irregularities disappear and make the cruising very comfortable, but even lots of sidewall can fix deep potholes and the suspension wasn't designed to absorb it particularly well.

Clearly this thread is old but for anyone else thats having this issue I would say get a larger tire with more sidewall, I won't be held responsible for others using psi as low as I do if something were to happen to someone else, but I will say use your best judgement and always keep the Ford Exploder case study in mind. I think 36psi if perfect for me.

it was the skid plate . One front bolt was loose, it was making that squirrel noise.
I replaced the shocks and ride improved a 50%

juat try taking some air out of the tires. Put it to 40 and see how that feels. What type tires do you have? The bfgoodrich ka2’s are the softest tire out there. They don’t look aggressive but you won’t find a better comfortable ride than these. I know. I’ve had coopers, nitto trail grapplers, and Amp. Nothing compares.

Hi mcioci ... This is a very old Thread but stil thanks for the info .
During the time Ive been fixing this and that (shocks ,new tires , stabilizing, suspension etc and is in ok position. I also understood this beast will.never ride as a smooth Cadillac but I wont trade it. Either so I just learn tonlove how it rides instead to try to change his nature
