hey guys wondering if there is a specific full synthetic that you guys run or prefer for our engines? in a 2003, so i got the 6.0, i know it doesnt matter too much considering i keep my OCI's low/normal at 5000 km, but wondering what oil you guys are running and what oci? also what filter?

In the past it used to be castrol semi synthetic + whatever else the gm dealership recommend because that used to be the dexos recommendation but i have switched across amsoil signature series and pennzoil ultra platinum and castrol edge regularely. I for the past 1-2 years i went with KN filter or Mobil filter but yesterday i was lazy and went to the dealer and got the dexos gen 2 full synthetic 5w30 with the ac delco filter.

I run Amsoil in our vehicles....

 

I run Pennzoil ultra full syn and a WIX filter. In all reality, all the name brand oils are good and you cant go wrong with any of them.

 

I've always ran Mobil 1 full synthetic in all my vehicles. We've owned many GMs over the years "requiring" Mobil 1 in the manual so that's what I've always stuck with. Filter wise, I usually stick with a Mobil 1 filter but I have bounced between AC Delco in the past.
