Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
Recently got a 2004 H2 - everything was working fine and one day the brake lights, hazards, and turn signal lights went weird. Changed all the bulbs, put in a new signal switch and it’s still happening. The blinkers only blink and blink fast fast when foot is not on the brake, when braking they won’t blink at all. Also while braking the hazard lights on dash light up. Any ideas on what’s causing this?
H2 do not like LED lights. Have you added any at any point in time? First thing to do: yank all those out and test with regular bulbs.
I must add to this that any vehicle that never had LED lights installed ain’t liking this.
The on board computer isn’t programmed for it as it throws out an error on the load.
Start with putting load resisters on your turn signal LED’s first.
Any load resister works imo.
I’ve load resisters added to my company pickup trucks and my own business truck for over 5 years now.
Sometimes you have to replace the LED’s as they start flickering cause they are cheapos from Amazon.
I myself have all the lights on my H2 replaced for LED’s not only the bulbs but the whole unit 4 months ago and added only resisters to the front and rear signal turn lights.
So far so good.

When it comes to turn signal bulbs, LED models need a resistor (or flash controlled) in order to function properly and at their maximum efficiency.
One LED resistor is needed for each turn signal.
So the point of a resistor or equalizer,
are for impedance matching, maximum power transfer and to improve output stability as well as to ensure a minimum of current flow.
Load resisters or equalizers are used at the output of a circuit to increase or decrease the power to the load.
There are many YT vids on how to as of why.
Just watched a YT video the other day on a 2020 Tundra.... they added resistors to get the LED's they added to work right. Worked fine for a few weeks until the added current and constant heat in the wiring and models fried the $700 integrated power module. Nice.
My things has always been, and I did try LED's for quite some time, is every single time they proved to not last any longer than regular old incandescent bulbs and often had an even shorter life. Plus the fun failure modes where they become disco lights for a while. My old regular bulbs in all the roof lights lasted over 8 years... was that not good enough?
In any case I am very against using hot running short circuits /aka/ resistor modules to get LED's to act right in a vehicle. If you insist, then the only good solution is to get a new flasher relay that is designed to work with LED's which 100% negates the need for resistors. If for some specific vehicle a flasher module designed for LED's is not available then stick with regular bulbs. They work fine and generally do last a long time.

pit the led bulbs in my indicators. I have bought the resistors but not sure which wire to put them on. I had a friend send me a picture of his but his truck isn't an 08. So wire colour s are different. Can any one send me a picture of there wires with the resistor connected thanks max.

I’ve a ‘08 and installed resistors front a back.
You look for the hot wire, I think the front is the blue and rear is the red wire.
