Default Transmission Slipping

Rig has 164k on it. Slips and revs high at times. Is it worth spending $400 on a full flush or should I save that money and get the transmission serviced and or replaced? I've added Transtune btw and it didn't change anything.

Thanks in advance.

There's your problem, the odometer is running backwards.

The rig has 165k on it and is not driven very much.

How long do I have before it outright fails?

Do I need a brand new transmission or would a repair do the trick?

Also, should I fix before I attempted to sell it? Or leave as is (if I chose to sell it).

I'd love your guys' advice, never had any transmission problems with any of my vehicles before, this is my first.

Thanks

My 2005Lux had same thing at 123k. Lost 2nd gear. Drove it to transmission shop. Cost me around $2000.00 That included them replacing the transmission cooler lines also because they were rusty and would not last much longer. Good Luck from WV.

A new transmission is $4k out here. I'm wondering if should sell it. Would you sell it or fix then sell?

Don't waste your money on a flush. Time for a Caitlyn Jenner.

Where are you located? I would agree that a flush would probably make it worse.

For what it’s worth I installed a used transmission with 70k miles on it for around $1600. If not doing that much driving may be something to look at to save cost. Have you had the thing scanned? Codes? I had a very similar situation but only needed to replace some type of a module (solenoid?) as my truck was stuck on second or third gear can’t remember that was years ago. Very cheap to fix at that time.
the 05 are good year models. Good luck
