My buddies H2 front upper control arm ball joint nut snapped off. His tire was obviously bent in and laying on the ground. We got a skid steer to use forks to lift up the front and drag it to the garage. I was in the skid steer and he was in the truck, when I lifted it up we thought we could keep it in D and just slowly roll it as I was going backwards, but since its all the time 4wd the good front wheel was spinning. We put the transfer case in N. obviously the half shaft came out of the bad wheel since it wasn't spinning. Today we put a new control arm on and new brake line (that broke too)

Now, I was hopeful when the control arm was back on it would lock into place, but the transfer case will not allow us to shift out N. It will flash when pressing 4h but never goes in

Hoping someone has an idea here.

The key must be the run position with the engine off, and transmission in neutral to shift the transfer case out of neutral. Did you try it that way according to the owners manual?
