check the connector at the transfercase maybe it is loose or has corrosion also the switch might need cleaning.

There is also a transfer case motor which can go bad. I am on my third. Not to expensive a fix either. No damage should occur with it no shifting into 4H or 4L. .

excellent advice as usual, I will check the encoder motor connection. from my research on this none shifting issue on 2500 trucks there's suposed to be a group of ground wires located under body just under the driver seat there's high proability they are corroded an cleaning them fixs the none shift issue. I looked but couldn't see them.
IIRC this group of ground wires on the H2 is located around the driver side front bumper I looked there to didn't see. a image of these grounds would be a big help.
my main concern was will driving the H2 when she's stuck in the normal street driven 4wheel drive would cause more damage?
here's wheres she's stuck.

I have also tryed cycleing the button w/ engine running transmission in nuetral depressing the 4/low an 4/high all I observe is yellow blinking Light I've depressed these buttons over 100 time in hope of loosening up the switch.
I'll check the encoder wiring an report back.
can I test the wiring at the encoder motor. like test it in regular 4x4 then retest w/ 4/low button depressed? like will there be zero VDC while in regular 4x4 an 5VDC when pressing the 4/low an which wire is the buttons signal wire?

thanks again bronxteck

excellent thats what I was concerned w/ causing more damage. bc I'm not a off roader I'm a on roader.
are buying the el cheapo encoder motors for $50. or the expensive ones for over $200.?
hoping to drive the H2 a bit this summer. thanks dontheo55
