Trans rebuild, too much fluid
Just got a transmission put in with a new torque converter, and added a transmission cooler to the existing one in radiator. Capacity of fluid says 12qts. After putting five in, I ran through all the gears and added more, doing this a couple of times. Then checked the level, and it was over filled by a couple of qts. Has been several days and it hasn’t went down any more. So, does it have some kind of air bubble or something in it?
11qt capacity on an overhaul.
Fluid is added during rebuild, 2qts should be added to the torque converter before install.
That is why there is a fluid level indicator (aka dipstick). Check before you add more fluid, however you overfilled and should drain the excess until you reach the proper level.
Make sure to check level with vehicle running @ operating temperature.
