Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Tip please to dingy tow H2

Tip please to dingy tow H2

I’m considering dingy towing a H2 w/ a U-haul ford f250.

1.Doe’s uhaul rent the tow bar to connect to the H2 front hitch?

2.An I must supply the couplers where the recovery rings are? like is there a universal type couplers? or vehicle specific?

3.I thought the front hitch could be used for coupling.

Apparently not?

If I’m unable to electronically shift transfer case into neutral

4.Can I physically remove front driveshaft to protect TC an trans.?

5.Then shift trans into neutral?however the rear diff will still be spinning but trans won’t be turning.

Towing 200 miles from 95

0’ above sea level to 250’ above sea level not much inclines

Majority is down hill.

didn't see a towing section or a towed section.

Thanks for any advice.

Only you can edit your own post. If you are logged on you can edit. If you are not logged on you cannot.

Also you should be able to shift the Transfer case into neutral. There is a process for doing that. It is in your owners Manual. If you don't have one someone here can post how. I don't know what year you have so the process is different for my 2009 H2 then the older models . Go on You Tube there Are Video's there.

Uhall rents tow dollies (Front Wheels on trailer) this is probably not good for the H2 as it is AWD, best bet would be flat trailered, As a Dingy they wont rent stuff maybe sell it only or would have to get it elsewhere.

where to edit? buying site unsean. I know the procedure to shift trans fer case to neutral by holding the hi-low lock buttons for 10 seconds the light blinks then stays on to confirm put trans in gear to see it h2 moves.

negatory on tow dolley unless it's custom made. I know this bc I have chevy express vans 1500/3500 both are 79" wide. H2 is 82".
I've sean images of H2 on a flat bed w/ express 3500 wheels just barly fits.
uhaul doe's sell a contraption that attaches to the front where the recovery rings are mounted I believe the pins that hold these recovery rings also hold this contraption. thanks for advice

ok I think I've figured it out the H2 requires stock recovery hooks replaced w/ a backing plate. then the contraption is attched.

correct me if I'm wrong
