Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
Since I have a new Tech2 coming, I was prepared to be brave and re-visit my old one as VDDS couldn't fix it
The PCMCIA card and interface were fine so I decided to accept the errors as being real.
Located the SRAM (U5 & U6) and checked their signal lines with my oscilloscope, one data line (U6-D0) looked very odd, so bought an new chip ($6) fitted it and hey presto it booted up!
The CLKMEM error is still there, but the RTC "YY/DD/MM hh:mm:ss" are correct, so it makes no sense really, but it doesn't stop it working.
awesome job sussing out the issue. i don't recall mine having that IDE looking ribbon going to the display mine had spring loaded gold plated pins instead.
1st, thanks again guys for all your help, which I know takes time and effort, more perhaps than others realize.
My unit is very cheaply made, doubt if there's any gold plating in it
So this CLK error has got me curious, in the back of my mind I seem to recall seeing it before, sometimes.
Anyway, in the "Tool Options" menu the settings can be adjusted, however the "Set Clock" icon button does nothing. At 1st I thought the key might be defective, so I tried the TIS2000 emulation and it still does nothing, but whatever adjustments are made are saved so its not a big issue.
