I was looking up struts for my back lift gate. When I was looking a 2 point strut bar for the engine bay popped up.
I was wondering if anyone knows what this is meant for and if anyone has tried it out.

There seems to be a few variants out there, they look to be some kind of front suspension reinforcement, may be for racing?

 

Strut tower braces are for racing. Nothing to do with hood opening.
Designed to keep your strut tower geometry intact.
Strut towers can collapse when exposed to great forces.
Had it happen to me once on a sports car.
