Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
Both of my side mirrors adjust side to side fine but not up and down. Since it is both of them I assumed it was the button, but I noticed that even if I have reverse tilt turned on they don't tilt when I reverse. Could both of the mirrors be damaged or is there some other module or something that I am not thinking of?
Thank You! I should have mentioned that I just got the truck and they haven't worked since I got it. I also suspect the motors. Something just dawned on me, maybe the previous owner had them set to both go down when reversing and the frequent up and down damaged that part of the motor.
The motors themselves will be fine, its more likely to be the tiny little rack+pinion plastic gear mechanisms which are notoriously prone to getting damaged, over enthusiastic car-washes might be a cause, who knows,
If you look at the bottom RH corner gear you can see a break in the white plastic. Also the plastic "rocker-arm" ( the arrow shaped part with numbers printed on) often break as well as the main housing it pivots-on, the pivot is in the middle underside and hidden from view in this pic.
If you operate the mirror up/down you should hear it trying to move, if not then it could the wiring related (which would be preferable)
Your wiring may look as below or could have a single connector as in the later
Unfortunately replacement mirror mechanisms are hard to find and individual plastic parts are not available to the best of my knowledge. eBay is a good place to look, I believe a Silverado mech may be compatible.
