Service Air Bag light HELP!
#11
I posted a tsb above, could be a connection contact issue, however, I don't know,if there were any repairs performed that would allow the steering wheel to travel too far destroying the clockspring?

WOW! You guys are on it! I appreciate the help. I have not had or made any repairs that would have caused this in over a year. It sits most of the time, I drive it on weekends sometimes. This just showed up one day. I will read the TSB thoroughly and see what I can test and figure out. I will report back and/or ask more questions.
Thanks again!

I finally got the new clockspring and some time to do the job. Not too bad, just takes some time to get all of the plugs and wiring harness out and the new one in.
Service Air Bag light went out!!! I appreciate all of the help and support!

When doing my research into my problem I found that others have had one of the two front impact sensors crack from over tightening or whatever. This would allow moisture inside the sensor and this could cause your issue. One easy way to check this would be to swap sensors and see if the problem changes to the other side, this way you would know its the sensor and not the wiring to it. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. Before the scanner I assumed it was one of the front sensors b/c that's a common problem. But glad I waited till I got the scanner and see that it's actually a side impact sensor in the driver's side door and I didn't waste time/money on the front sensor.
