Replaced mirror (just an observation)
so probably third or fourth time i am reverencing a post a did a year ago about will i see
all of the usual problems people have with their H2's. Everyone complains about our cheap
interiors especially door panels. my interior is perfect. not a crack, no squeaks or rattles at all.
been dreading replacing my passenger mirror because I dont want to possibly damage door panel
anyway just did it, was totally gentle. im used to working on old stuff, based upon the condition
of the vapor barrier etc im the first person to ever have door panel off, as soon as i pressed on the
door panel to reinstall, the door panel cracked a good 3 inches, all of the plastic clips came off perfect,
but of couse upon reinstall the door panel rattles and is loose. anyway long rant i now will eventually have
to pull door panel back off, probably use some self adhesive sound deadener on the back of the door
panel to strengthen it and keep crack from spreading (its invisible as long as its not flexed ) and buy all
new clips. but guess im ****, its going to bother me knowing its cracked,

i used this to repair the panel
. i think you can find it at michaels or hobby lobby there are also other tips available that are helpful for diffrent situations.
somewhere between yellow and orange is a good heat range. you can dial the heat in as needed.
i also use this type of brass mesh to bond the crack from the back side. i melt it into the plastic panel.
if your carefull it will not distort the panel or melt through.

Or JB Weld..You Have your Choice.. JB Weld "Quick" Or "JB Weld " The quick will start to harden in about 5 min. And be hard after a few hours. It can be spread into the crack and molded the way you want. Or, you can sand it when dry. The Quick has very good strength and I would use this as nothing is under a super heavy load.
The Standard "JB Weld" takes about 24 hours to cure and moves around if not set where you want it. They use this for cracks in engine blocks and heavy duty repairs.
Like the commercial guy says..... "I put That S%*&#^%T on everything.!" Can't tell you how many uses that stuff has. So Go with "JB Weld Quick"
Here's a link to there site... Check out the New Clear product .. then hit the product button to look around.

thanks for advice everyone. my real reason for posting was not so much asking advice how to repair, it was more of I
had a perfect door panel, i am experienced with working on old cars, i took my time, and I still wound up with a
cracked door panel, my original post a little over a year ago was basically my truck is excellent and do you all really
think Im going to see all the problems you guys post about, the obvious answer is if I keep it long enough I absolutely
will.. unfortunately lol
