Default Remove rear wiper arm? HOW!?

Wanting to double check with someone who has removed theirs before... I lifted the cap and removed the nut, but the arm won't come off, even with wd40. I'm trying so hard I'm worried something is going to break. Is there a trick to it or something specific to the Hummer that needs to be done? With a new wiper blade the arm still isn't touching the windshield at all. I'm going to try bending it with a vice and if that doesn't work replace the arm. Either way, I need the old arm off... Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Its pressed on. Just keep trying to rock it back and forth and it will eventually come loose. They can be a real bugger if they have been on for many years. I have a graphics business and we have to remove rear wipers a good bit. Worst case you might need to grab it with some pliers to rock it back and forth. The plus side is the beauty cover will hide any marks you make on the round bit doing that. I'd have to double check but those little plastic overs also are usually removable as well to get them out of the way.

I'm bummed to hear that the Piaa wiper did not help. I'm not sure that bending the arm itself will help as it will still have close to the same tension pressing it to the window. My thinking is the spring itself must be just worn out. Would likely be near impossible to find just the right spring though - only fix is to probably buy an entire new arm.

I ordered a brand new wiper arm for $40 off eBay. It's cheap enough to where I rather do that than attempt to bend the arm which probably won't even work. I'll try again tomorrow to remove the old arm. Thanks!

I don't know if it was the rain or the wd40 kicking in but the second time I tried the old arm came right off. With the new wiper arm and piaa wiper it's working perfectly now. It looks like it was probably the original arm from 2004. Thanks!
