Default Rear wiper not touching

I went to get new wipers for my 2003 hummer h2 and replaced the rear one as well but noticed it doesn’t touch. I guess that way my problem all along and probably didn’t need to change it. It seems like the spring isn’t strong enough anymore so is my easiest fix just to bend the arm? Or what do you guys tecommend

thx

Check that spring is attached and working correctly, Double check that you have installed wiper correctly (with correct adapter) and if all checks out, bend it slightly, spring should be under very minor pressure when wiper is against window.

Silicone spray the hinge then work it back and forth. if you pull the blade off the window, and release, should snap back.

I know others have just gone ahead and replaced the entire arm since a new one has a new spring. Mine works but misses about 25% at the far ends of the wiper. I did get a Piaa replacement blade which helped but the spring in the arm itself is just worn out. I have not looked close enough to see if there is some way to help that on the existing arm.

There is a 99% chance you're also going to need the rear wiper arm because I had the same problem. Part number is 88944328, it is on eBay for 39$. I tried bending my old arm with pliers and just couldn't get it right. The new one made everything work again.
