rear engine seal, change or wait?

You’re wrong. I bought my truck with 24k miles on it. I always babied it. At around 80k the rear main seal was starting to sweat. So instead of waiting for it to start really leaking I changed it out. I got oil changes every 3k miles without fail. These engines are known for rear main seals.

I also have an 08 with 48k mikes and it started to sweat too so I changed that one too and I treat the trucks as if they were my kids.
Back when I started driving, the odometer would reset at 00001.
Looking back, I've NEVER had a rear main seal leak.
