Default rear door lock switch/mechanism is sticky, how to fix

hey guys in my 2003 hummer h2, both the rear door locks are sticky. when i try manually pushing the door lock switch, they are hard to push and dont slide as easily as the front ones. so whenever i unlock or lock the truck, the back ones either dont lock or dont unlock or are half way, where there door will open half way but not fully. how can i fix this? do i just lube up the door lock actuator with wd 40 or something or do i have to replace something in both doors?
thx

attached is a photo of what i am talking about

Spray silicone lube to free it up, you may need to pull the door panel and spray the linkage, actuators, etc...

Agree with Hummerz..... do not use WD40. That is not a real lubricant.

Likely the plastic slide button itself is not the problem. More likely in the rods, lock actuator, etc. The factory grease on the rod slides is a white lithium grease but like many types of grease, after a number of years it starts to act more like an adhesive than a lubricant. Clean it all off and put some new grease on things and it will probably loosen up and be fine.
