Parts availability problem

Parts availability problem
I ordered a bezel (dash piece) for my 2005 H2 back on 2/8/11. I am still waiting for it to come in. I call every few weeks to find out the status. So I went to my dealer yesterday to find out why it is taking so long. I spoke with the parts manager. he told me many Hummer parts are unavailable. When GM went under, many parts manufacturers (that were owed a lot of money) went under too. So no one is making most of the parts. He doesn't know when (or if) I will see this part. He also told me insurance companies have totaled 3 H2's in the last two months at his dealership only because there are NO NEW H2 HOODS anywhere in the world!! He told me not to get into a wreck where I need a hood!!
Has anyone experienced this problem?

Wow i'm shocked that I have such a rare part on my 03 H2.
Perhaps I should stop wheeling at Rausch Creek Rausch Creek Off Road Park I might break something!
Honestly to date the ONLY part I had a hard time finding was a memory seat control module.
Might I suggest not using the dealer as a source and go after market, I have found most of the OEM parts to be substandard to whats available elsewhere now.
Oh 155k miles and still rolling strong

I have not had to replace a hood...yet...I expect I will soon enough.
I have however just replaced my entire center console, and most of the dash plastics which I bought from http://rollmasters.com.
All of which were damaged when a thief broke in and stole the electronics (AVIC-Z130BT stereo, Yaesu Ham radio, Police Scanner, and CB) they pried it all out with screwdrivers and brute force destroying all the center and some of the adjacent side pieces.
And a quick Google search for hoods popped up a couple sources. There are even some nifty carbon fiber ones out there (search for 03HMH24DOE-010C for example) Checked dealer stock on a whim earlier while picking up some small parts and the dealer here has 2 in stock...
