Default Nitto's or Toyo"s

Hi

We are currently running on my 3rd set of Nitto grapplers, there at 7/32's ....35x12.5x17 on our 2004 H2. Its my understanding that Nitto/Toyo are both made by same usa company. Are the toyo m/t tires A better ride and great on the road in the rain, exellent off-road, my mileage on the nittos average about 35,000 miles rotated every 3,000 miles. Happy with them, but always wondering about other brands....

Any pros or cons on the Toyo M/T...

Thanks...Rick

They are the same company, but it is as Japanese a Sake, located in Osaka. Wouldn't put those on anything I own.

I'm a few years late to this, but all i can say are the Nittos are far superior than the Toyos. I had toyo open country R/Ts for about 5-6 years(37x12.5r20s) and they were decent. Then I went to the nitto ridge grapplers a few months ago which are also a hybrid tire and the ride is sooooo much better. It was literally a night and day difference. They handle better, absorb the bumbs better, and ride better.
So if you're stuck between Nitto's and toyo's. Get the Nitto's no question. Best tire for on road and off road for any suv or truck.
