Default New Rockyroad rock sliders for h2

Just got these delivered today. I have my doubts on their ability to hold the 7k lb h2 off a rock though the metal seems pretty thick. They bolt on to the factory 8 holes for the oem sliders and rockyroad assures me they can hold the weight of the vehicle and be a Jack point for those fancy off road jacks. They say these are the toughest sliders you can buy.
thoughts?

They don't look as HD as the Factory ones. But as long as the Mfg says they'll hold then that's that. They are cleaner looking then the Factory ones. And the Big question is...How Much do they sell for? Mine are aging but still in one piece. Got some small spots where the powder coating started lifting. I think a new Factory job goes for about $800.00 each and some beans.

Pricey ???? And Used.. just one...

I’ll post pics later, but these were about $1300 shipped. Took almost 4 months for them to build them. And for what they are that’s absolute BS. I installed them today. They are just bolt on(with difficulty) and they are no where near what factory sliders are. I put my Jack and a block of wood under to disperse the weight and the damn thing started to bend. Not permanently but it was hitting the body before it even lifted the truck off the ground.

I would’ve lifted it all the way but I was at my limit of 4 scrap pieces of wood on top my floor Jack, so it might be fine, but who knows. it appears to be made of 1/4” but there are no gussets at all which is what concerns me. They claim they’re the toughest rock sliders you can buy, will hold the weight of the vehicle, and offer a lifetime guarantee.

That’s great and all but if the slider bends and Fs something up on the body or rips the bolts out of the frame, the last thing I’d be worried about is warrantying the sliders. I’d get rid of them!

maybe I’ll update this in the future but for now my advice would be to steer clear. Also the step surface sucks. It’s too small.

Thanks Gavin,
Man That sucks...... I have trail jacked my H2 on the factory sliders. They are strong and do not bend. The single strut shown in your pic to the frame got my eye. I couldn't see how that square tube could hold the weight without bending. Are you going to return them? If so ...I'd make a short video of them bending to prove your point. That's allot of bucks for those things. Send them back.

It was the AMP retractable steps. They were super cool because they looked like the factory rock rails when retracted and we’re a nice big step. They just don’t hold up on the trails. One big rock knocked out my passenger side and the driver side just stopped working. They lasted me 7 years so I’m not complaining. They just aren’t up the the off road task.

Update: still not sure what to think
I went out and got a hilift Jack from China freight tools to test these things out.

Ill post pictures of what the sliders looked like during and after. as well as the driver side slider as a before(the passenger side used to look just like it). I only got the front wheel off the ground by about 2 inches before I called it quits. The slider was hitting the body just barely, but not enough the cause any damage though the support rails were resting on the pinch welds and the outside rails pushed up the bottom of the plastic cladding just a bit. I’d say it permanently deformed a little less than an inch. The slider is not bent long ways. Just upward about 3-4 degrees. I am not an expert on rock sliders. I don’t know how much bending and warping is acceptable but this seems like too much.

I’m unsure what to do at this point because I certainly do not want to deal with having to freight these back to them, but right now I definitely don’t think they were worth the money or the 4 months of waiting.

Drivers side(hasn’t been lifted from)

Also drivers side

Rocky Roads are the Shizzle! I've had them on 2 of my H3s.

You say they bend, actually you need to understand the difference between "flex" vs "bend".
