I've been buying parts from Summit since the early 80's. Back then I had a half hour drive 1 way (Akron,O). Now, they ship next day to me. Never had a problem with anything I have purchased from them. Stay loyal with 4wP, as long as the price is inline with others. GL

I also ordered a new battery cover because mine is starting to look a little shabby. I think it will help to keep some of the heat out. I think the one I ordered is black and mine is white and has a Velcro furry surface.

Wow. Maybe so but mine is all white with black trim. Maybe it’s picked clean like you said. Really glad I got a new one now. I learn something new here everyday. No wonder I can’t find a white one! Hahaha

Leaking acid is usually the culprit.

Over my many years of managing an auto repair, I did a stint a few years ago at a major battery installer(1,000 per month) and their batteries are very reliable, however every time a customer came in for a replacement under warranty, I always found the insulator missing??? The same place where customers would have their battery checked once a year and some still checked good after 8+yrs. I started watching the techs replace batteries and sure enough, some were eliminating what they called a "bib". I advised them to install the battery with the "bib", however I still found the insulators in the garbage after my watch. I left the company and moved on. Bottom line, if your battery is not properly insulated from the heat, expect a short life. DieHard.

If it gets you 6 months more battery life I think it’s worth the 29 bucks...

Wrap it good and you will get even more battery life!... Btw, remote mounted batteries last even longer. The key is to keep the heat away from the battery!

Soft packaging is not good

Goes into tank bracket

You can’t mount this

7/9 blade assembly finally
Just now received my 4th fan assembly and I finally got the 7/9 blade assembly that I ordered. It was not packaged very well and the upper mounting hole is broke off and the lower middle part that slides into the radiator tank is broken also. I looked to see if I could put it in the 5/7 assembly but it’s not as HD and a cover over the back of the fan is molded into the 7/9 assembly. I sent LKQ an email and I will see what they say but at this point I bet they think I’m a liar!

I took the 7/9 blade assembly apart and I cleaned the blades and motors and they look like new. I was surprised how good of shape they were in. I tried to put the 9 blade motor in the 5/7 shroud and it will not fit. The HD motor is deeper and the mounting tabs are in the wrong spot for the plug opening. I could do a 7/7 assembly but after seeing that bigger HD motor I don’t know if I can.

7 blade is on the left 9 blade on the right

Bolt holes don’t line up
