My 2007 h2

I had been searching for my H2 for about 6 months before I found one as close to what I wanted as possible. I finally found a Model Year 2007 black on black with 27,000 miles and really nice inside and out even underneath. I found it in California and that’s where it has spent its entire life. I had it shipped to Las Vegas because California was going to charge me 550 dollars to drive it 2 hours in their beautiful state. My thinking was I’d rather give it to a shipper than see the state get a dime of my money. So I get it home a week later and it had a few cosmetic problems like 4 door dings that came out perfectly and the seat was worn on the driverside, because owner was older and a little heavier than he should be. I ordered new seat foam and new GM cover and it was exact match. I also noticed that the tire rubbed on the passenger fender liner enough to wear thru it, so I ordered a new liner from Chevy dealer and I had the torsion bars adjusted and it needed it because the snubbers were almost cut in half. The plastic stuff Had something sprayed on it to make it look better and they got overspray above the plastics all around the vehicle to the point I thought the clear coat was ruined or at least color sanding and buff. I was able to get it 100% off with 100% CarNuba wax, I think it was called better butter and it’s amazing how it just takes it off with zero abrasives. I sent all my plastic parts and bumpers even my cowl off to paint and continued to get familiar with my H2. I wanted to change all the fluids except for the front and rear diffs. So I got the Amsoil for everything but the power steering because I used Royal Purple to flush it with. While doing my transmission flush I heard a slight pop and I noticed a small amount of coolant coming out of the transmission bung and I didn’t think that was right but when I continued my flush I didn’t notice any coolant in it. I was able to post a question here and I got some really nice members to reply and advise me about what I really have going on worked me thru my complete denial. Thanks to those members I saved my tranny! While doing the front bumper I noticed that the input seal on the steering box was leaking, so I pulled it off and took it to be rebuilt locally and I dropped it off at 8am and he called me at 11am and said it was ready! I picked it up and it looked beautiful and new and they didn’t paint over the bolts or aluminum cap or nothing. I got it home and installed it and it was perfect. I am having a Be Cool radiator built and I will use the oil cooler and transmission cooler in the tanks and I’m adding a tru cool 40k and a 160 stat. It’s hot here in Vegas and I don’t want worry about stuff that I should never need to worry about. So today I started picking my parts up from paint and they look amazing!!! Paradise auto body did the work and I was impressed that they could take a POS plastic and make it look great and smooth. I can only install the plastic hood vent until I get the rear bumper stuff and get my radiator done but I’m excited to see it done. I will post a few pictures and maybe some will get inspired maybe others will like the look and some just don’t like anything... I like it and that’s all that matters to me.

Thanks.
i was amazed how nice they turned out especially for how much texture the plastic has. I believe they look more finished than raw. I really like the vent smooth and body matched. I was wanting the billet vent but owner of the shop talked me into getting a new one and painting it. My vent was cracked.

New direct fit!
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hum...828c677ce.jpeg
Factory 187 that fits!
Received my direct fit mishimoto 160 degree stat today and it didn’t fit! Hahaha went and got a Murry t-stat from parts store and brought it home and put it in water with my own stat and the 160 opened at 190 not good so I will return it and I ordered a Lingenfelter 160 degree from Summit and it should be here in a few days. While I have my radiator out and t-stat off I think I will change to Evens waterless coolant.

thanks Calif Phil. This was just going to be a simple changing of the fluids and some paint work. I’m really fighting the urge to install a stage 2 truck cam and long tubes. Today I will get new radiator hoses and maybe replace the belts while everything is off.? I should have more stuff ready to pick up from paint and my transmission cooler will be delivered today so I will plan my attack and I should have some pics. I am really happy with my Mag Hytec trans pan. Really good quality and a flange that seals , lifetime warranty so if you need a new o-ring pan gasket just call and ask for a new one.

Can’t wait to see it on
Went to Findley Chevrolet today and picked up upper and lower radiator hoses and they come complete and even lines that show you what to line up and what direction they go. I went by the Paradise Auto body and picked up my rockers and cowl and rear bumper cap. I am very happy with the quality of work they do considering it’s not a custom paint shop but they are capable of doing the same quality work.

Back of cooler
Started on my transmission cooler tonight. I went and got a 1”x1” aluminum angle and some stainless hardware. I want to make it look like I was never there and I hope that it’s going to work out. It has rained here most of the day so not a lot has got done. I did order my Evans Waterless Coolant and flush, only after Evans rep called me about an email I sent with questions on Saturday. I will paint it black after I get it fit

I installed the passengers side rocker and I’m very happy with how it turned out. I went to shut the door and my step was in slow motion so I put the battery on the charger. I hate side post because they give you nothing to clamp to.

Has anyone replaced the rubber around the headlight assemblies? I checked with dealer and they said rubber Moulding is not a separate part and the assembly is like 250$. I ordered some stuff from amazon that is uv protected and flexible. I will attempt to make a new one and I don’t know how it will turn out but I don’t think it could look any worse than it does.
