A big problem that all hummer h2 owners have is that it leaks into water ..... If that does not do it now, it will do it sooner or later ... But it is possible to fix the problem but it is a lot of work

You guys must just be talking about the H2's that don't go off road much.
Something goes wrong every time I leave the pavement.
There are some upgrades that I needed to do on mine. The following I had to beef up on both my lifted H2 and my wife's "Street Queen" H2 because they go bad all the time.
Hubs, Tie Rods, Ball Joints, Idler & Pitman arms, Trans cooler.

I would like to learn more about the 4L80E tranny conversion though. I heard it was longer and would require a lot of work to make fit.

For those who park outside. I recently had a problem with electrical gremlins in my Chevy Tahoe 2004. It turned out to be caused by rodents (chipmunks I suspect) chewing on my wiring harness. My GM dealer located near the GM proving grounds in Michigan told me that they have been seeing more and more problems like this since the EPA has forced the big three to switch to rubber that the dip in peanut oil to keep it soft and not brittle. This makes the harness cover smell good to rodents who in turn chew on the wiring harness.

Keep this in mind if you park you vehicle outside like I do.

Government = expense

One thing I done was properly seal all the roof lights to prevent the issue. I read a few articles here n there about that.

I do take mine off the pavement but I do not do Rock Crawling in it.
I am looking to beef up the tie rods (in and out) and some other components. What you guys might want to look into is swapping your torsion bars with the 1 Ton ones, mine made a big diff on handling and turning.
I got me a new steering stabilizer shock from Fabtech, that also made an improvement.
I recently replaced the following:

1- Ball joints (Lower)
2- Upper Control Arms
3- Pitman Arm
4- Idler Arm
5- All Body Mounts and related hardware
6- Had the cross member welded in place to prevent flexing and popping noises
7- All lubes, fluids
8- Spark plugs and wires
9- Belts
10- Pulleys
11- Water Pump
12- front shaft seals
13- Engine oil pan gasket and rear main seal
14- Air filter (Drop in from Airaid) waiting on the arm to be here as well
15- Engine mounts
16- Trans mount
17- few electrical components

None of the items I replaced were bad or worn out, I just wanted the peace of mind since I bought a used vehicle with 50k miles on it.
Still have to replace the shocks on it, just trying to figure out which route I am going, Bilsteins or Fox...

Default fule level issue

I have a 2003 with 70ks on it ( not miles) and i have this one little annoying issue where the tank says it has 1/4 of a tank left. The computer says that there is 118kms left..and it will just cut out as if there's no fule left in the tank. It's a 200L tank approx. And to fill it up it only takes 160. So I'm thinking by that logic there's still fuel in the tank? Anybody else have this issue or have any suggestions / solutions for me?

Being one of the few on here that owned my first New one in 2005 and so far have had 3. (I have love hate relationship with these things )

1. Mirrors (early models)
2. 2003 thru 2007 have fragile interiors (door panels)
3. Now that the are getting older, drivers door hinges (typical GM)
4. 6.0 liter knock sensors
5. Air Ride !!! Yikes get rid of it.
6. Roof lighting leaking into cabs

These items are issues ALL 3 of mine have had over the past 10 years.

Default H2 2005 with 179k miles

So the leak on the roof was easy to fix. the water leak through the sun roof kept coming back. Missing screws and the 2nd time was drain plugged. The Mirrors also not folding in, only out. Now here come the double oil leak on pressure punp and gasket. $1200 at GM or Aspen.

My questions are; Can I ignore the leaks? Where can I fix it for less (colorado springs)? Could it be fine towing 5000lbs to Texas? Thx
