Well we got some experts here. it would help if you post the year of your H2. Also on my 09 I have Map Lights front and rear. I assume your asking about the Front.

Cool...don't have the shop manual in front of me...but I'm sure a few guys will pop on with the answer. I just went out and looked at my 09 front. It's the same as the rear lens.

Look at the on off button... towards the rear of the lens (Towards You) there is a very small slot cut into the lens. If you stick a small flat blade screw driver in that slot... you should be able to pop it lose exposing the Lamp.

DooooooooooooooooH!!! Infamous HUMMER H2 Water Leak... They all leak. And in several places. You should do a search here and see how many threads there are on Water Leaks and the area's and the Fix's. Lots of good info on fixing the H2 Mobile In Cabin Mobile Shower.

I saw the treads, but I am still trying to find out how to take the cover off the map light area.

Again: Look at the on off button... towards the rear of the lens (Towards You) there is a very small slot cut into the lens. If you stick a small flat blade screw driver in that slot... you should be able to pop it lose exposing the Lamp.

You need a tiny small screw driver. You stick the flat blade in that little slot and try to pop it out.
