Frustrated with my heat shield under the drivers seat always rattling, i decided to take a peek...

Appears that the factory shield had corroded through and was just resting around the bolt (hence the rattle).

Took a can of pop and cut it down around lower edge with a pair of scissors; just the bottom of can is used.

Removed the heatshield bolt and drilled a hole to match in the centre of the bottom of pop can.

Lightly hammered cut edge down smooth.

Slid the bolt through bottom of can and screwed it all together.

Pop can base molded to shape of heatshield when tightened, no more rattle!

Would work on any heat shield that rattles

Fixed for free in under 5mins.

 

Those are the best kind of repairs, high reward, no cost and easy!
