Default loud thump when cycling transfer case settingd

hey guys i have a 2003 hummer h2 and i obvs drive in 4hi all the time, i noticed that when i cycle to diff settings while im at a stand still, it thumps really hard when it goes into each setting. is this normal? or is it super bad? i dont want to break anything and i know my fluid is relatively new so idk what it could be

Its normal.... sometimes will be much louder than others depending on how the gears start to mesh up. 4LO lock also tends to be a much louder clunk than 4HI lock.

My 2003 H2 makes a loud clunk when changing in and out of 4W low lock but no sound when shifting in all other gears is this normal also ??

As long as its working its fine. Its a pretty simple system, clunking is normal.
