My 2004 is having the same issue. My speedo gauge and several others were not working, infect the speedo was at 140 MPH. I replaced all the servo motors and all the burnt out lights and it worked three or four times and died. Few hours and works fine the PRD321 and Odometer come on and its good. I have had it completely turn off wile driving and never did come on till I started up next day. Had a XM installed few years back but haven't used it in since 2015. Also was looking for the test / reset sequence. Some GM vehicles you can make sure the Odom is on turn off the key hold the miles reset in (hole time) and turn the key to AUX and it will go through a CHeck 1, 2, 3 and test all the lights sequence. Sorry to many questions.

 

My gear indicator light doesn't work. I went through the trouble of removing the cluster to see if it was just a lamp and find out its an lcd screen that is way too small for me to try and solder in a new one. when I put the cluster back in it worked. weird. cracked my front dash panel while doing this. $400 on new panel. screw the gear indicator light.

 

Just out of pure curiosity, which panel did you crack?

I bought my 2003 H2 new. Great truck. 186,000 miles on it. Started doing the dash thing about two years ago. Sometimes it would stay off for a week. No aftermarket mods or accessories. Discovered about a year ago if I turn my headlights from auto to on and back the dash comes back alive. Go figure ... but it works.

 

did they ever figure out your problem dealing with this right now
